🌍 The No Code Issue. #4

What are these images?
These are images of 8 fully functional custom websites built in a matter of minutes on cell phones by people who don’t know how to code websites.

We will get there, but first…
👋 Whats goodie, Fam! NahRabbits, here. This issue will be a little different from the previous issues you have read. We are going to slightly pivot away from investment opportunities and market chatter in this edition, to bring eyes to an emerging movement that we believe will accelerate businesses online.
It’s about to get really real in 2020 and beyond.

Huh?
You can create custom websites without any coding skills.
This is not necessarily a new thing. We have tools like our beloved Shopify, & SquareSpace for starters, that provide popular templates for non-technical folks to build cool lil’ websites.
The Problem
However, if non-techie folks want to build a custom website, that is where these current DIY tools (Shopify) fall short, since coding skills are required for custom sites. But that scenario has changed. We found a new tool that lets you build custom websites HELLA easily.
So what’s this thing called?
It’s called Universe.
In our opinion, this is the simplest way to make a custom website. Ya grandma could start a business, build a brand that’s unique to her, and share it with everyone—all from her 📲in a few minutes.
“My feeling is that the phone has so much creative potential as a tool. I think that a lot more of the web is going to be consumed and created on mobile.” - Joseph Cohen, Universe Founder

Examples

🌍 Universe Specs:
The founder is Joseph Cohen. Universe is based in Brooklyn, New York.
“I’ve been obsessed with this space for three years,” he said. “It comes from the desire to turn phones into creative devices. The web is still this incredible platform for sharing identities, and there needs to be a mobile-native way for creating for the web.” - Joseph Cohen
📱How it works:
Universe gives you a bunch of mini templates around a simple 5 x 3 grid. These mini templates can be filled with whatever text, links, icons, and custom backgrounds you want.

You can also add: a landing page for your social media links, party flyer invitations etc . Tons of stuff!
Cost: Websites that use Universe’s own domain are free, while those registered with custom domains cost $10.00 bucks /month.🤑

We had a quick idea on the fly (🐝) that we wanted to create with Universe.
We built a Money Phone 📲 website.
It took roughly 5 minutes to build the website ( on the left). Then we created another one. A quick Easter landing page (rough idea) for NahRabbits. We used the free versions.

Super Dope: We could also sync additional pages, a PayPal or Stripe integration for our product if we had something to sell 🤑. These are mad silly sites but the potential of this web builder is endless.
💭A closing thought :
Universe should be a solid tool in your stack if you don’t know how to code. As you can see, the sky's the limit on what you can create. If you have a rough idea that you need to just get out of your head, you can do it.
🧠Keep in mind, this web tool is meant for the mobile experience only, not the desktop. Universe is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a ton of other no code to low code tools you can use to get crackin on some ideas to ship.
What we ❤️ about Universe? The complexity of customization has been democratized for us. So with that being covered, go explore Universe, get inspired and see what others are up to.
If you end up taking the #nocode plunge on your phone, put us on to your work! Let us see what you have created. We got you!
If you are curious about any other tools, we got you on the list!

Is this a sponsored post? Nah, we found some cool shit and decided to put our fam on like we normally do!

1. 2020 is the year of the (out of touch) brand voice 🎙️
2. Rich folks, meh ☹️
Remember those days of dreaming on being on Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, or having the Grey Poupon on deck in your baller mobile? Well, no one cares anymore cuz the only “Rich boy, check” anybody seems to care about now is the kind you can deposit into your bank. But since you fool with NahRabbits, we’re still gonna collect our coin together, regardless.
3. And the best new library award goes to… Radiohead?

The legendary band is always doing some wild shit when it comes to dropping music and solidifying their legacy, but this is really dope. Basically, each member of the group pulled some of their favorite Radiohead experiences for their own “collections”. It’s refreshing to see bands that don’t need to innovate anymore, constantly being curious and fun.
